B & B Charm
If you are looking for a unique and relaxed lodging experience, you may wish to stay at one of our local Bed and Breakfasts.
Staying at a B&B includes a comfortable, homey room in a uniquely beautiful home. With a warm, inviting atmosphere, your hosts make you feel like a part of the family the moment you walk in the door.
One of the best perks of staying at a B&B is that your evening relaxation is not confined to a single room. You can sit beside a crackling fire in the living room to enjoy your evening glass of wine or cup of tea. You can leisurely wander through the property’s garden and take in some fresh air to wind down after a busy day. Your hosts are warm-hearted people who can offer you personalized service and some insights into the local attractions and shops.
Oh, and don’t forget the delicious, hearty breakfast in the morning to start off your day!
Whether you are looking for a romantic weekend, a girls getaway, or simply a break from the typical hotel stay, discover the hospitality and charm of a B&B in the Grand Rapids, MN area.
Bed and Breakfast – Grand Rapids Minnesota
Green Heron Bed and Breakfast
Open Year Round- B&B / Resorts
Just minutes from Grand Rapids, the Green Heron Bed and Breakfast is looking forward to welcoming you to the shores of Pokegama Lake and the North Woods of Minnesota. We’re a cozy inn, open year round, with an old European country feel and modern American amenities. When you come down the drive you’ll find it hard to believe you were just in town, and are only minutes away from bike and ski trails, golf courses, fishing or paddling, hiking and shopping.
We have two very comfortable guest rooms, each with private baths, views of the lake and easy access to our fantastic sandy beach. Included during your stay is a full breakfast, use of kayaks, canoe and fire pit on the beach. There’s mooring available if you rent a boat from town or have your own, and a grill if you’d like to cook your catch. Inside there’s a beautiful library with a variety of music, books, movies and games for you to enjoy, or just to escape to for work (if you must). Gardens surround the house and provide for lots of bird watching.
Pokegama is a lake with many personalities. Depending on the season and time of day you may experience visits from our resident bald eagles, great blue herons, loons and many other ducks (all of our nesting boxes are occupied this year) and our namesake…green herons, which have a rookery in our side yard. Deer have even been known to peek in windows while wandering through. Other times you can experience the excitement of fishing tournaments, fireworks displays, hockey tournaments, boiling maple syrup…the list goes on and on.
Innkeepers, Chris and Johnnie Fulton, look forward to meeting you and helping you have that perfect vacation that you’ll want to make a tradition.
