According to Explore Minnesota and Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development: tourism brings $74,443,609 million dollars and more than 1500 jobs to Itasca County. In Minnesota, tourism is an $15 billion industry that generates more than 265,000 jobs and makes up for 11 percent of private sector employment.

This morning we took a tour of northern MN in celebration of National Travel and Tourism Week. Tourism is a $15 billion dollar industry in MN and generates more than 265,000 jobs – making up for 11% of private sector employment. I became acquainted with Bri Stacklie, the Minnesota Deer Hunter Association event and publication coordinator, through writing articles for her. She invited me to attend their 2017 Minnesota Governor’s Deer Opener, which sounded like a great event. Who hasn’t heard about the legendary “deer camps” in Minnesota.
