Family catching walleye

Tom Neustrom with Potter Family from Waseca on Grand Rapids area lake.

Grand Rapids Fishing Report, June 6, 2014, by Tom Neustrom (MN Fishing Connections). The warm weather has definitely had an effect on the walleye fishing on all of the Grand Rapids Area lakes and have made the bite awesome. Big Winnie, Bowstring, Sand and Round, just to mention a few have been on fire this last week . Jig and minnow has been the preferred approach but the rig fisherman with crawlers and leeches are starting to catch fish as well. Walleyes for the most part remain fairly shallow, but start looking for walleyes to show up on deeper structure as the water temperatures increase. We are looking for a great angling season in the Grand Rapids lakes and contact Visit Grand Rapids for additional information. We are about “Minnesota’s Nature” all year long. We continue to be the best all- around fishing destination in Minnesota, Come join us! Remember, this weekend is “Take a Kid Fishing” anglers that have a 15 year old or younger with them June 6-8, 2014 can fish for FREE. This is a great opportunity to experience fishing with your family in Grand Rapids.
