Grand Rapids Fishing Report 7-8-16

This week’s Grand Rapids Fishing Report brought to you by Tom Neustrom, MN Fishing Connections.

Winnie has been very good this week for catching on rigs with leeches, crawlers and spinners. Humps and bars are producing fish. Lots of large fish have been caught and there’s even been a few keepers in the mix! Don’t forget to fish shallow waters. Try the shallow areas with a spinner that maxes out at 1.5 mph. Pokegama lake is also starting to produce walleye. The best place to find the walleyes are in deep weeds. Try pulling spinners and crawlers. Trout Lake in Coleraine, MN has also been producing good fish. They best fish have been found in the depth range of 20-26 feet. Bass fishing in the Grand Rapids area has been red hot! Many fish have been caught on weed lines and points. If you are looking to pan fish, the area lakes have been good for this also! Most fish have been caught on the outside edges of the lakes with small baits.

Good luck fishing!
