    Join MacRostie Art Center for an international art expedition as we travel to Canada to visit the Winnipeg Art Gallery and take part in Winnipeg's Festival du Voyageur. "INSURGENCE/RESURGENCE is the WAG's largest-ever exhibition of contemporary Indigenous art and includes work by artists across Canadian territories and nations. Festival du Voyageur is the largest winter festival in western Canada with outdoor activities, food, music, markets, and more. The fee for this weekend includes 2 nights lodging in downtown Winnipeg, round-trip travel from Grand Rapids, and admission to WAG, Festival du Voyageur, and the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra's Charlie Chaplin film night.     Learn how to effectively use collage. Collage was an artistic revolt that opened up a new way of painting that is generally misunderstood, yet had a large impact on modern art. Experiment with the many collage techniques and create works using repurposed paper and acrylic media. Explore collage materials and different ways of using many collage elements like color, shape, texture, transfer and decollage methods to create varied abstract or representational compositions. Presented by the artist in conjunction with support by the Minnesota State Arts Board.

    Enjoy an evening of skiing and socializing at Scenic State Park!

    Youth, adults, beginners and experts are invited to join Edge of the Wilderness Ski for a ski event through the pines by candlelight. A warming fire and hot chocolate will be provided. Youth skis are also available for use.

    A daily or annual MN State Parks vehicle permit is required for all vehicles entering the park. A MN Ski Pass is required to ski on trails. Both can be purchased at the contact station of the self-registration kiosk.

    Directions: Located 7 miles east of Bigfork on County Road 7. Also 32 miles north of Hwy 169.
    Meeting location will be the historic lodge near the north end of the main park road.

    Event Description
    The Itasca Symphony Orchestra presents Johannes Brahms’ Symphony Number 1. A piece the composer began writing at the age of 22 and worked and re-worked until he deemed it performance worthy. When Symphony Number 1 premiered in Germany in 1876, the composer was 43 years old. Brahmns viewed this music as an extension of himself. Complete with dramatic strength, lyrical power and thematic cohesion, Symphony Number 1 is considered a truly exceptional symphony.
