Welcome Hockey Families

Grand Rapids Hockey

Hockey is part of Minnesota’s heritage and we are proud in Grand Rapids, MN to host youth hockey tournaments from mid November to beginning of March each year. We want to welcome all hockey families to play hockey, and enjoy everything our version of Minnesota’s nature has to offer.

Thousands of people Head North to Grand Rapids in the winter season to watch youth hockey. From the check in at the lodging property to the check in at the hockey arena, Visit Grand Rapids wants to show you the other things that you can do and see while you are here.  There is so much more than just the drive between the lodging property and the arena, with maybe a stop at a fast food restaurant to grab a meal on the go.

Grand Rapids MN FamilyMake a family weekend out of the hockey tournament. Visit Grand Rapids created a landing page that is designated to find “Winter Things To Do”. Once you are on the site, you select the amount of time you have while you are in town. Based on the amount of time you have will populate what there is to do. You will find everything from area attractions to outdoor recreation options.

“We want all visitors of the Grand Rapids, MN area to feel welcomed and invited. We love sharing all of the options with people. Most people have no idea that there is so many things to do in the area, especially in the winter, shares Megan Christianson, Executive Director, Visit Grand Rapids.
