Living Through The Lens of a Tourist

This is officially my last blog as The Natural Traveler! I cannot believe how fast this summer has flown by. It has been such a wonderful time interning at Visit Grand Rapids. Living this summer through the lenses of a tourist.  Getting all of your feedback and seeing people interact with me through social media and in person at events has been humbling!

So Many Activities!

It is unbelievable how much I was able to do this summer! Going to many performances at The Reif Center, including Louie Anderson! Fat Tire Biking the Joyce Estates thanks to Itasca Trail Sports. Attend festivals like The Bash 7, Tall Timber Days and the Deer River BBQ & Brew Fest. Listening to live music at KAXE Mississippi River Festival and the VFW Jazz Night. Other live shows at First Friday Art Walk and in Coleraine by the city band. Going to walleye shootouts, car shows, and shopping events. I got pampered in a spa day at True North Salon and Spa! Even being able to do outdoor recreational activities like stand up paddle boarding and kayaking the Mississippi River, thanks to Paddle Hoppers.

I guess what I’m trying to say, is that I was able to do so many different types of activities, events and festivals this summer. Attending all of these things, really showed me how diverse the Grand Rapids area is. It’s amazing much was going on all summer long; I don’t think two of me could have even made it to all of the events! Even though summer is done, there is still a lot going on, and if you’d like to look at the calendar of events for the Grand Rapids area, you can see it here.

You Have Been Wonderful!

I hope that at some point throughout this past summer, I inspired you to travel and try a couple of new things! As the Natural Traveler, I cannot thank you enough for following along with me on my adventures this past summer. Whether it was on this blog, through my newspaper articles, radio shows or on social media, the amount of support and engagement from you was wonderful! If anything, you have all inspired me to go out and explore more!

You Can Still Join In

My adventure may be done, but you can still keep up with Visit Grand Rapids on their website, or on social media through Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube and Google+! Thank you again for a wonderful, travel inspiring summer, and thank you for following The Natural Traveler!
