Visit Grand Rapids celebrates its 30th anniversary, and new location in Old Central School on Friday, June 7th from 4-7pm.30anniv

Visit Grand Rapids was formed in 1983 with a mission of bringing people to the Grand Rapids area.  VGR is responsible for tourism marketing for the Grand Rapids area.  VGR markets the community as a destination for travel including family vacations, business meetings, special events, conventions, motor coach tours, reunions and more. Because Grand Rapids is a drive market, VGR concentrates its’ advertising spending in Minnesota and the upper Midwest through print, internet, electronic, broadcast, social media and direct mail.  

“It is our mission to generate a positive economic impact through travel and tourism,” shares Megan Christianson, Executive Director of Visit Grand Rapids, “we are excited to celebrate with are residents, businesses and visitors our new location in the Old Central School.”  “We are proud of what the area has to offer and it is fun to be able to share the opportunity with those that do not live here.” 

Visit Grand Rapids strives to give visitors all the information necessary to make an informed decision on visiting this area for a family reunion, a business conference, a weekend get-away, a snowmobile trip, fishing trip, or any other fun adventure.  It is a goal of Visit Grand Rapids make tourist aware of all of grand things to do in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. 

In addition to celebrating their 30th Anniversary, Visit Grand Rapids is participating in the First Friday Downtown Art Walk.  VGR is hosting photographer: Karen Oothoudt, and string trio, representing he Itasca Orchestra and Strings program: Maggie Anderson, Sam Muelle and Solveig Viren.
