This week’s Grand Rapids Fishing Report brought to you by: Tom Neustrom, MN Fishing Connections
The Grand Rapids area has been still a wonderful place to visit, even with the lousy weather that the entire is experiencing. Pokegama Lake this past weekend hosted the Regional AYA(Angler-Young Angler) Walleye Tournament with approximately 85 angler young and old participating. A great time was had by all and the winner qualified for the North American AYA Championship to be held in Kenora, Ontario in August. Many walleyes over 25 inches were brought to the scales to show what Pokegama Lake has to offer.
Other area lakes are providing good fishing and neighboring Trout Lake in the community of Coleraine is also offering excellent walleye fishing. Some of the smaller lakes in the Grand Rapids area are also providing good bass and panfish opportunities as well. Summer is here and there is no better place to visit than the Grand Rapids Area. With the 4th of July weekend coming very soon, come join us. We are all about Minnesota’s Nature”.
Good luck fishing!
