Grand Rapids Fishing Report 5/21/15

Grand Rapids Fishing Reports 5/21/15 by Tom Neustrom, MN Fishing Connections.

The water is starting to warm up and the fish are getting active. Look for Memorial weekend to be an excellent fishing weekend. The walleyes have been deeper on area lakes than normal this time of year. This will change as temperatures start to warm up. Best depths are 10-16’ with a jig and shiner. With the addition of all of the rain in week the water levels have come up and boat launches are accessible. The panfish bite is slower due to cooler water have been off, crappies and bluegills will pick up as water temps rise. The bass opener is this weekend and most of the smallmouth can be found in deeper water and largemouth are being located in 6’ or less in the bays. Have a great weekend and come visit us in Grand Rapids.
