This week’s Fishing Report brought to you by Thousand Lakes Sporting Goods.

In the Grand Rapids, Minnesota area, suckers and crappie are what is biting the best.  They are catching suckers in tributaries of the Mississippi River and on the Mississippi River.  Crappies are biting on smaller lakes north and south of Grand Rapids. This is because smaller lakes are getting up to the prime 45 degree temperature when fish start to really bite. Pokegama has been a popular location for crappies in the small bays. A popular bait system is a simple bobber rig with crappie minnow on a plain hook or jig.
