Reif Center

The Reif Center Performing Arts Center brings world class performances to rural Minnesota theatres and stages through their Reif On The Road  – Fall & Winter 2015/2016 Season.

Guest Blogger: Katie Benes, Reif Center Marketing Director, shares updates about upcoming Reif Center performances that will be located throughout NE Minnesota arts theatres and performance centers during their renovation period.

During the renovation progresses on the Reif Performing Arts Center, the organization’s mission of “stimulating arts in Northern Minnesota” continues. The Reif has literally “taken their show on the road,” presenting events in the communities surrounding Grand Rapids. The series called Reif on the Road kicked-off this summer with three independent film shown under the stars at the Showboat Landing. But now, as the roadways grow ever more beautiful with the changing autumn leaves, performances begin in earnest.

Reif Center PerformanceOn October, on the 18th, 3pm, the Reif will present Cirque Alfonse from Quebec, Canada, in a performance called Timber. Timber has been described as “Cirque du Soleil meets lumberjack show.” It is a hyper-festive performance which includes aerial acrobatics, axe juggling, knife throwing, music, dance, and epic displays of strength and agility. The Reif and Forest History Center will team up for a special pre-show event in Coleraine’s Longyear Park beginning at 1pm. Friends of the Forest History Center will host timber-themed games – a great event for families!
