Snowmobile Trail Conditions
3- 16 - 2009

Groomers were out late last week getting the new snowfall groomed out and it looked like it would be a good weekend to ride.  Then the 50+ degree temperatures arrived on Saturday and Sunday.  The temperatures are expected to stay above freezing for the next few days and may reach 60's for daytime highs.  This is probably the end of the season for grooming.  The through town trail is now down to the dirt wherever the sun reaches it. There may be some late season riding on remote, wooded trails, but the major connector routes are in tough shape.  All in all, it was a great season and we had lots of visitors this year enjoying the trails around Grand Rapids.

See specific trail reports below.

Be sure to bookmark this page and check back with us often.  This page is updated frequently during the season with honest snow conditions.

Always remember that 85% of Minnesota snowmobile and ski trails are maintained by volunteers.  Be courteous and don't forget to thank them for keeping the trails open for you to enjoy.

Our trails were groomed Thursday night after receiving 5-6 inches of snow on Tuesday. The trails are in good to excellent condition. However, they won’t last because of the warm weather expected over the weekend. Our local forecast is for temperatures 45 degrees and warmer on Saturday and Sunday, with continuing warm weather during next week. We plan to groom the main trail, Marcell North, again on Saturday.
