Cabin Fever Relievers
March is the month of shows. Sport Shows, Builder's Shows, Boat Shows, plus the ever popular lineup of entertainment, music, art, and theater performances. If cabin fever has you jonesing for some time out of the house, now is that time. You can buy a boat, learn to fish from a professional, or find a contractor during the day, then be entertained in the evening and make an overnight of it. Early Spring Lodging Rates are the best deals of the year. See the March Calendar of Events for a complete listing of dates and activities.

If you are hanging on to winter until the very end (and we appreciate that about you), you'll be glad to know the cross-country ski and snowmobile trails are still in decent shape. While other areas of the state have received more snow, fewer riders on the trails here have kept the local trails in good riding (and gliding) condition. For the latest updates, be sure to check our Trail Grooming Report page for more information.

Get While the Getting is Good
We've all heard this pearl of wisdom before. But did you ever think of it in the context of your summer vacation? Grand Rapids area resorts are already reporting strong bookings for the peak summer season. If your vacation time at the lake is important to you, we suggest booking now before your favorite resort is filled and your co-workers abscond the prime vacation weeks on the company schedule. Grand Rapids offers quality resorts, family attractions, and more than enough outdoor recreation to easily fill up a week-long stay and keep your entire family entertained. Another pearl of wisdom, "A last-minute bargain isn't really a bargain if it wasn't what you wanted."

Grand Rapids is Singing the BLUES!
Blues Fest that is. The Boundary Water Blues Festival is moving to Grand Rapids for its 10th Anniversary event. Blues Fest will take place over four days from July 30 - August 2 at the Itasca County Fairgrounds in Grand Rapids. This year's event promises the caliber of blues performers that have made this music festival a perennial favorite, as well as some special guest appearances, sideline entertainment, and after-hours events with shuttle bus service. Get your tickets in advance through rangeblues.com, and be sure to book your lodging early because a sold-out town is a guarantee.
