It's Spring in the Northland Spring arrived early in Grand Rapids
this year. While snowmobilers and winter
enthusiasts grieve the end of winter a
month early this year, the robins are
back and spring is here. The ice is
getting thin on area lakes and is
pulling away from the shorelines
already. What a change from last year
when we worried about the ice being out
for the May walleye fishing opener.
While you are prepping your boat or golf
clubs for the season, you can follow our
ice-out progress and other signs of
spring on the
Grand Rapids, Minnesota
Fan Page on Facebook.

Did You Know?
Grand Rapids has one of the highest
number of
retail shops per capita in the
state of Minnesota. |
Grand Rapids in the News
Local Chef Matthew Taylor was profiled
in a recent issue of the St. Paul
Pioneer Press. Chef Taylor recently
returned from a stagiere at Cyrus - a
prestigious
Michelin two-star restaurant
in Sonoma, California. Matthew Taylor is
the Owner/Chef of
Rivers Italian in Grand Rapids.
On the Road with Jason Davis, was
recently in town covering a story on
Grand Rapids' own Pasties Plus. This
unassuming little pasty shop has been a
favorite of visitors, and staple for
locals, since they opened years ago. Be
sure to sign the wall when you visit.
