Judy Garland Festival & Other June Events
Fans of Judy Garland flock to Grand Rapids each June to participate in the annual Judy Garland Festival. This year marks the 32nd year of the festival. Each year visitors can mingle with the original munchkins from the Wizard of Oz film and participate in a variety of activities celebrating the life and work of Grand Rapids’ favorite daughter. New this year is the Ruby Slipper Mystery Caper – an interactive mystery theater dinner that explores the scenarios surrounding the theft of the famous Ruby Slippers. Comedy Thursdays at the Reif
Thursday night is Comedy Night at the Reif Performing Arts Center. The summer comedy line-up kicks off June 14th with a FREE performance by comedian Jay Wendell Walker. Reif Comedy Thursdays feature well-known touring comedians in the intimate setting of the Reif. Fishing Success Continues
Fishing continues to be good this week due to a cooling in the weather patterns that helps to extend the spring walleye bite. Anglers are reporting success on area lakes.
