Old is New Again - June
2007
Two of the area’s biggest events
happen in July and both rekindle
the themes of days past. The
Vintage Car Show and Swap Meet,
held at the Itasca County
Fairgrounds on July 28 & 29
feature hundreds of vendors
selling wares from antiques to
car parts.

Mississippi Melodie Showboat
performances, featuring live
theater and music on the banks
of the Mississippi River, are
held Thursday, Friday and
Saturday nights, the last three
weekends of July. There is a new
show each year, and this unique
entertainment is something you
won’t find anywhere else in
Minnesota.

The Insider’s Guide to Grand
Rapids in July
July is almost here and Grand
Rapids is ready with a full menu
of festivals and special
events.
The staff at Visit Grand Rapids
has been combing the area for
unique, out of the ordinary
offerings, that give you more
variety and more choice in how
you spend your vacation. A
number of local communities are
having their centennial
celebrations in July and local
berry farms are approaching the
picking season. Families will
appreciate the full calendar of
naturalist programs, four nights
of fireworks displays and the
Nick Live Stage Show. Adults
have fun in Grand Rapids too.
Reif Comedy Thursdays, old car
cruise nights, and romantic
dinners by the lake are just a
few options for some quality
time alone. A full calendar of
events is posted at
www.visitgrandrapids.com and
our staff will be happy to help
you with our own “insider’s
advice”.
