Itasca County Snowmobile Association has secured Levi LaVallee as Keynote Speaker for Winter Rendezvous
Grand Rapids, Minnesota is the location for the 2017 Minnesota United Snowmobiles’ Association Winter Rendezvous event. The event will take place February 9-12, 2017 at the Timberlake Lodge Hotel in Grand Rapids. The Itasca County Snowmobile Association is hosting the event by taking care of all the details to ensure all snowmobile enthusiast enjoy their time while visiting Grand Rapids.
Special events that will take place are a VIP ride and luncheon with manufacturing executives from Polaris and Arctic Cat that at the Sugar Lake Lodge, Eight Guided Snowmobile Rides – that will give riders of all levels an opportunity to experience the 2,000 miles of groomed snowmobile trails in Itasca County, Awards Banquet where Levi LaVallee will be the keynote, and Autographs and Photos with Levi LaVallee following the banquet.
This event is an opportunity for fellow Minnesota snowmobile enthusiasts to network with one another, share stories, and enjoy riding in Minnesota’s nature together. The Grand Rapids area snowmobile trails provide for a wide variety of scenery – mines and pines, tamarack bogs, hardwood forests, vistas and overlooks, frozen area lakes and ponds, and through cascading white pine forests. Along the routes are gas stations, bars and restaurants. There is a route that everyone will enjoy. The Itasca area snowmobile clubs have been out packing and grooming the trail to get ready for this event. There is a good base of 10+” currently.
Each year communities and snowmobile associations bid on the event to host in their community. This event brings 200+ snowmobilers to a community during winter tourism season. The bids are two years out. Visit Grand Rapids and the Itasca Snowmobile Association bid on this event in 2015. “We look forward to the economic impact that this will bring to the Grand Rapids area the beginning of February,” shares Megan Christianson, Executive Director, Visit Grand Rapids. The Itasca Snowmobile Alliance bid on this event to show support of the Minnesota United Snowmobilers’ Association. “We are proud to have been able to secure Levi LaVallee for this event, Wayne Roskos, Co-Chair of the 2017 Mn USA Winter Rendezvous event. This year we have been able to secure sponsorship that has allowed us to offer children under 15 FREE with a paid adult registration for the weekend. The goal of the 2017 event was to make it family friendly.”
To register for the event, you can find registration on the Visit Grand Rapids and Mn USA websites. Lodging is filling up, so snowmobilers are encouraged to book today to ensure overnight lodging. Blocks of rooms have been set up at a wide variety of Hotels/Motels, B&B’s and Resorts in the Grand Rapids, MN area.
