Below is a list of restaurants that can handle motorcoach size groups.  Additional restaurants for smaller groups and individuals can be found on our regular dining page.

The Sawmill Inn is conveniently located in town on South Highway 169, and offers popular specialties including homemade soups, hot popovers, 20 oz. bone-in Ribeye, Walleye Pike a la Ritz and our delicious Belgian Waffle Brunch Buffet on Sundays. The Cedar Dining Room also offers a lumberjack meal perfect for timber-themed tours. The meal includes: sow belly (pork), spuds (whole oven baked potatoes), baggies (rutabaga), linen lifters (baked beans), loggin’ berries (stewed prunes), punk (bread), swamp water (tea), black jack (coffee), and pregnant woman pie (apple pie). Cost is $19 including tax and gratuity. Groups up to 400 can be accommodated in our private dining areas. Enjoy excellent food and customer service in a rugged North country decor with exposed wood beam ceilings, log accents, stone fireplaces in the lobby and dining room, antique logging tools and historic photographs.
Meal Prices: Complimentary Continental breakfast is available for Motor Coach Tours with an overnight stay. Breakfasts start at $5.95; lunch at $6.95; dinner at $11.95.

White Oak Society Lunch/Dinner
Great White Oak Hall

If you have ever dined with voyageurs, then you know what to expect at the Great White Oak Hall in Deer River (between Forest History Center and White Oak Casino). Enjoy a 4-course lunch ($20*) or 5-course dinner ($37*) served by living-history interpreters who will treat you to recipes from the taverns in Philadelphia. A tour of the site may be included; there are 18 different interpretive stations throughout the post (i.e., blacksmith shop, heirloom garden, cook shack) to teach how people lived in northern Minnesota in 1798. It was a period when three distinct cultures intersected: the Ojibwe, the Voyageurs and the fur traders. (*Tax and gratuity included)  Dining Hall is handicapped accessible.
