If you have ever dined with voyageurs, then you know what to expect at the Great White Oak Hall in Deer River (between Forest History Center and White Oak Casino). Enjoy a 4-course lunch ($20*) or 5-course dinner ($37*) served by living-history interpreters who will treat you to recipes from the taverns in Philadelphia. A tour of the site may be included; there are 18 different interpretive stations throughout the post (i.e., blacksmith shop, heirloom garden, cook shack) to teach how people lived in northern Minnesota in 1798.
