Winter keeps rolling along. The days get longer and the sun seems to burn warmer even with cold temperatures. Ice fishing now takes a different twist as the game fish, other than trout, is now closed until Minnesota Opening Fishing in May. There are countless opportunities to continue to enjoy winter activities in the Grand Rapids area, Snow- shoeing, cross country skiing, snowmobiling, fat tire biking and of course ice fishing. We have beautiful trails and animal life abounds. Northern Lights, one of nature’s most beautiful works of art, become a constant happening on clear cool nights. In the northland we are blessed with clean air and a lifestyle that attracts thousands of travelers to our area. The fishing will be good for the rest of the winter for crappies, bluegills, trout, and tullibees. Small baits will be a key for success and moving will be essential to find active fish.
