Things are changing drastically with temperatures dropping 10-15 degrees. This is causing bait fish to come in shallow and the walleyes are right there with them. Some of the better walleye producing lakes in the area are Big Split Hand, Bowstring, Winnibigoshish. The crappie fishing has also been very good on area lakes. Crappies can be found in large schools 19-26 ft of water; use electronics to find schools and use #5 jigging rap or 1/8 ounce jig and small minnow. Muskie fisherman have been seeing action since the water temperatures cooling on Deer, Moose & Northstar lakes. Fall is a great time to be alive in Minnesota’s nature. Brilliant colors are just to appear; vivid yellows and sustle orange and red starting to appear.
