Grand Rapids Fishing Report 8-4-14 by Tom Neustrom, MN Fishing Connections
We are now on the backstretch of summer and the fishing continues to seek it’s level. Walleyes have been taken this last week on several area lakes trolling spinners and a shiner or night crawler over the top of weed beds along the shoreline of Bowstring, Sand, Big Splithand, and Trout lakes. The deeper bite has been best on Pokegama, Trout, and Deer Lakes. Crawlers and Leeches on slip sinker rigs moving slow have worked the best. Panfish on Pokegama Lake have also been fun for the kids. Poole’s Bay along the weedlines with a piece of worm and a bobber is all you need. We have a passion for having people come to Grand Rapids and enjoy what we have to offer. Come join us through these last days of summer. We are in Minnesota’s Nature.
