This week’s Grand Rapids Fishing Report brought to you by Tom Neustrom, MN Fishing Connections.
Summer keeps moving forward and before you know it Fall will upon us. The consistent weather of this past week has given the fish opportunities to bite.
Walleyes have been active on area lakes with a gold spinner and a half crawler of minnow fished on the edges or over the top of weeds. Look for cabbage flats associated to deep water for best options. Trolling at speeds of 1.3 to 1.5 mph have been best.
Bass fishing has also been good with many lakes providing good smallmouth and largemouth.
Northern pike have been on fire trolling spoons over the top of weeds and crank baits in and along the deeper edges.
Crappies are starting to show themselves and with the cooler weather predicted look for that to improve as well. Summer is slipping away so get out and enjoy.
Get out and fish – there is still lots of summer days and nights left! Come for the fish and stay for the beautiful Minnesota’s nature. Check out our Hot Lodging section for GREAT last minute lodging deals!
