Grand Rapids Fishing Report 5-14-15 by Tom Neustrom, MN Fishing ConnectionsMidwest Outdoors Cover with Tom Neustrom.

Another Fishing Opener has come and gone with very successful reports from the Grand Rapids area. Several limits of nice walleyes were brought in and the weather cooperated the first weekend. With cool water temperatures most of the reports from area lakes predicted the walleyes would be shallow and for the most part they were. Jig and a spottail shiner was the bait of choice and there were many photo and release of larger fish reported. The crappie fishing was good which added another component to the overall success and there were nice northern pike taken as well. With the warmer weather predicted for the next week we are anticipating fishing will continue to get better and better. Grand Rapids always will roll out the red carpet for all its visitors so come fish with us in Minnesota’s Nature.
