Thank you for continuing to follow my blog posts. This week I wanted to highlight the beautiful hiking that is available in the Grand Rapids, MN area.
Hiking in Minnesota’s Nature
As a final hoo-rah to my summer, I wanted to get back into the true nature of Minnesota and see some of its natural beauty. I did a couple short little hiking trips. One in the Chippewa National Forest, and one around Tioga Pit. Both were beautiful trips with gorgeous fall colors! If you are looking to hike, you can download trail maps here. If you aren’t one for hiking, but would still love to get out and see some of the fall colors, there are a couple drive-able fall color tours that you can look at here. I really enjoyed being out in the brisk fall weather, seeing the area lakes so peaceful and calm, and being surrounded by the bright radiant fall colors.
Earlier this summer, I took a hike by the Prairie River Dam. Located just out of Grand Rapids. This area is always a beautiful hike, as the water rushes down the dam behind you. There are large flat rocks that jut out into the stream of water. Often you can find families having picnics on the rocks. If you are bringing kids along, or just looking for an easy hike, this is a wonderful place to go and explore!
